Texas Holdem starting hands, as used in Texas Holdem volume 1 "Fear no player" self hypnosis CD, there are 169 possible starting hands in Texas Holdem, of which there are approximately 50 which make life bearable and probably won't send you broke.
For want of a better word we at Winning Edge Products like to call them Premium cards or Premium starting hands.

Texas Holdem hands Group 1: These are recognised as being the premium starting hands they total 5 in number, they are represented above in their order of strength, eg. AA is the strongest Texas holdem starting hand followed by KK and so on.
If your new to Texas Holdem one of the key decisions that you will make when you play is which two starting cards do you play, well you can't go wrong with the above 5 or for that matter the top 16 hands in the first 3 Texas Holdem hand groupings.

Texas Holdem hands Group 2: These hands are played well in early positions where you require a good strong hand. Obviously they can be played in any position because of their noteable strength.

Texas Holdem hands Group 3: Generally speaking, the later you are in position, the weaker the hand you can play, while you need premium hands to play in early position.

Texas Holdem hands Group 4: Dead Man's Hand: Two pair - Aces and Eights (Wild Bill Hickock was shot in the back while playing this hand), and thats pretty much what's going to happen to you if you play cards outside of this group.
For my mind this is as far as I go, I have been playing Texas Holdem for a long time now, and I would have to be feeling really lucky to play any of the cards in the following groups

Texas Holdem hands Group 5: Sure play these if you need to but, Bad kickers, middle pairs, gut shots, low straights your just looking for trouble playing these cards, in Texas Holdem good cards win pots . . . bad cards get you in trouble, having said that some people would definately disagree with my strategies, but hey you get that!
